The second solution is to continue to keep the death penalty legal and to occasionally enforce it. The only punishment for murder is murder and many people agree with that. If a person wants to commit a crime as bad as murder then they deserve the exact same thing done to them.
Also, the death penalty would give the victims family some closure on the whole case because they could finally see the man or woman who killed their loved one get the same done to them. The death penalty helps to prevent crimes because if people know the justice system isn't afraid to put them to death, then they won't think of committing any crimes. It is able to put fear in the eyes of a criminal and scare them into stopping and thinking before they decide to go through with any terrible crime. |
